September moving into October

It's been a busy couple of weeks. Of course we have had school and work. We have also tried to play a little bit. Gregg and I managed to go to the movies once. Last weekend when the kids were home for the first time since leaving for college in August, we decided to go for a jeep ride. We always take the dog with us everywhere and Taryn and Gregg decided the cat should not be left out. So, Mokee was placed in her cat carrier and merrily we went on our way. That is an alliteration by the way. Of course, we were way down in the bird refuge and the jeep, for the first time ever, decided to quit. We were finally able to get hold of Gregg's brother, Gene, and he came to the rescue, taking Gregg and Mokee home and leaving Maya, Taryn, and me to guard the jeep in the pitch black darkness. Every time we would hear a strange noise, we would scream or I would baboon call. Then all the cows around Paris would start mooing. When Gregg returned, with a flashlight no less, he was able to figure out what was wrong. It was just a little wire. Off we went and all was well. Our great Paris safari adventure.
I was also able to go and watch Payge at the cross country meet the other day. Boy did the wind blow. Bear Lake girls did awesome. Way to go. Mom took us to eat after the meet. It was fun to see her. This weekend, Taryn and Cameron came home. Taryn has a big part of responsibility for the homecoming float for the dental hygeine program. Well, we worked most of Friday and all day Saturday building a giant tooth, the head of a lumberjack and two giant toothbrushes. It was fun, but we really had to use our creative brains. I hope they will work for her. Good luck Taryn and parade committee. Gregg and Cameron were both good to cheer us on, help when needed, and just basically stay out of our way. When Taryn and I are creating, we are not to be disturbed. Ha! Ha
And now another week begins. May we all have a good one.
